Myles Monday

Myles at 7 months (he turned 8 months old yesterday, so I need new pictures this week)! This photo captures his personality at this stage more than any photo I have taken. Just look how laid back he is: the deep stare, the drool, the lack of interest in toys. This boy is ALL boy. He is busy, but has the most laid back personality. This boy LOVES people. A friend who keeps him once a week told me last week with tears in her eyes that he was a joy to be around! And he is!!! He is SO sweet: hugging, kissing, griping you tight with his chubby thighs when you hold him. We couldn’t be happier! He is truly our treasure on earth!
For all mommies out there, what do you do with an 8 month old? He is too little to keep is attention on anything for to long, but we have to get out of the house at least once a day! Any ideas on fun / cheap things to do with a busy 8 month old? Leave your creative comments below!

What about a baby gym class. Gym Buddies is the only name I can think of off the top of my head, but places offer classes for mommy and baby. I went with my cousin and her then 1yr old and it was fun. They rolled and had neat shaped mats they used for different skills. I was impressed. It wasn’t like gymnastics, it was more for building body movements and spacial awareness. Look it up!
Duck pond, get a cheap walker and let him follow you around the house.
Get a bird house or make one. Hunter loved to watch the birds come eat off our in the backyard. We would feed them once a day same time everyday and sit on the porch and watch. Entertaining for little ones. Not a fan of birds but it made him happy.
I’ll keep thinking!!
Outside baby/toddler swing. Hang in the tree or on you porch. Cheap at toys r us.
torey loved her swing at that age. bonus: it often put her to sleep after she was finished giggling.
oh man when evan was that age we HAD to go out every day too… i had my rotation of
1. playground with pebbles (he loved crawling all over the pebbles and tossing it around
2. the arboretum or any park with lots of grass
3. someone else’s house
4. petsmart (oh man looking at fish and birds and little furry rodents takes some time)
5. barnes and noble (especially the arboretum)
6. mall
7. baby stores… i’d put evan on different baby toys and such and try them out
8. kidz n play (a jump house with lots of room to crawl and a separate section for building blocks) but only if i feel like paying $4 bucks
i knew there was more but i’ll have to think
Oh — that is high need baby time. I probably took him out to the park near us every day.
I went and met up with other moms/kids at shaded parks (during the hot summer)
We climbed the stairs a lot.
He loved playing with blocks (soft blocks).
Kids section in the bookstore
Grocery shopping was fun for him as he got to look around at other kids
I think kids get cabin so just going out for 15 minutes for fresh air is great for them….Good luck!
